Programme Details

There are two types of programme available. These are:

  • DIY (Do It Yourself) internship programme
  • Find an Internship programme

Programme aims and objectives

The internships in Brazil programme is designed for people aged over 18 years who are currently studying at University or College. It is a programme designed for people who are interested in a training programme that will enhance their academic studies whilst being able to experience Brazil and its culture.

Internship Placement

The participant is responsible for finding their own placement within a host organisation in Brazil.

The participant can provide details about the type of placement and experience they are seeking and we find an appropriate placement within a host organisation in Brazil.

Programme Duration

Up to 12 months

Language

Portuguese language classes can be added to the programme for an additional fee

Portuguese language classes can be added to the programme for an additional fee.

Many placements can be found for participants with no prior knowledge of Portuguese. In these situations, the working language within the company will be English or Spanish. Participants must know one of these languages to an advanced level if participating without Portuguese knowledge.

Eligibility

  • Over 18 years old
  • Currently enrolled at University or College
  • Study or have background in the field of training

Pay

This is your responsibility to negotiate with the host organisation when arranging your placement.

Not all placements will be paid. Some will have remuneration, such as a contribution towards living expenses (accommodation and food). It should be remembered that this is a training experience not a job. Average remuneration packages are around US$100 per month.

Accommodation

Accommodation can be arranged in advance of your arrival. Types of accommodation available are:

  • Host Family (where you have your own room within a Brazilian family’s home)

  • Self-catered flat (where you have your own room either in a single flat or sharing with other students or young professionals).

Programme Dates

This programme is available year-round.

Application Deadline

Your application must be submitted at least 2 months before your intended start date.
